B.J. Finnell from Okemo Valley TV is on grounds in front of the high school building for the dedication of the new Liberty Tree, a project spearheaded by the Town’s Tree Warden, Phil Carter.
The nation’s first Liberty Tree was a historic Elm tree in Boston, Massachusetts. When England imposed the Stamp Act, the Colonists declared “taxation without representation,” and the seeds of revolution were sown. That original Elm served as a gathering place and a witness to the birth of a new nation.
