The bridge that the townsfolk of Cambridge did not want building – in the end a court order instructed the town to build the bridge! The poor state of the bridge in 2001, led to the formation of The Vermont Covered Bridge Society and a plaque placed on the bridge in 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the Society.
