In this episode, Phill visits a bridge originally built in 1879, which stood over the Black River for one hundred and eighteen years until arsonists set fire to it on Halloween night, 1997. Two years later, the new bridge built as an exact replica, was opened on the same site. It is the only one of the three Paddleford Truss covered bridges remaining in Vermont that is open to traffic.
