Emily Ruff of Sage Mountain Botanical Sanctuary joined Sustainable Woodstock for its “Green Drinks” series, in a conversation about backyard strategies for corridor conservation. Emily shared stories from the Sanctuary in the Orange Uplands and the work to protect an 80,000 acre high priority wildlife corridor, sensitive watershed, and rare plant communities. Through these examples, she highlights ways each of us – whether stewarding a forest or a small backyard – can implement strategies that support the protection of greater corridor ecosystems.
