Increasing Our Coverage of Local Government in Action!

Tue, 10/03/2017 - 13:23 -- Patrick

Keep tuned into your local government in action. We have been providing "gavel-to-gavel" coverage of local gov't meetings since 2001, and we have continued to expanding that coverage. We are now televising 2 local meetings per day on our Education & Gov't channel. Meetings play each night, beginnign at 7PM, and then repeat starting at midnight, 8AM, and 2PM the following day. Find all of that info. & more here

In all, we cover an average of 16 meetings each month. These include meetings in Ludlow, Cavendish, Plymouth, Mount Holly, and, our latest addition, Andover. We record Selecboard, Planning Commission, & Development Review Board meetings. In addition, we cover school board meetings in these Towns as well, including those held within the Two Rivers Supervisory Union.

By increasing our telecasts to 2 meetings per day on our Educational & Gov't channel, we have doubled the number of times that each meeting plays, to a minimum of 16 times.

Not only do we televise the meetings, but we also make them available for viewing right here on our website.

We are pleased to announce that its two TV channels can now be found on VTel’s “VTelevision”. The programming can be seen throughout the VTel service area in Southern Vermont. This includes subscribers in the Towns for which LPCTV is designated to serve:  Mount Holly, Plymouth, Andover, & Reading. Examples of relevant programming for this audience include coverage of community events, “gavel-to-gavel” coverage of local government meetings, music and other performances from local artists, and programming produced for and by the local schools.

LPCTV’s local community “public access" channel can be found on VTel channel 160 and its education / government channel is on VTel 161. Both of these channels are in standard definition. In the near future, there will be the addition of HD channels, which means LPCTV’s programming will also be viewable in high definition on VTelevision.

LPCTV offers underwriting opportunities for local businesses who wish to show their support for local community television while taking advantage of a low-cost alternative or supplement to traditional advertising. In exchange for a tax-deductible charitable contribution, LPCTV will acknowledge each underwriter in its distribution of electronic and print media, including on the community bulletin board, and our website.

For more information about underwriting on LPCTV or to view sample "thank you" videos from the past year, visit lpctv.org/underwriting. You can also sign up right there on the site.
