We are now on VTel!

Fri, 03/10/2017 - 16:29 -- Patrick

We are pleased to announce that its two TV channels can now be found on VTel’s “VTelevision”. The programming can be seen throughout the VTel service area in Southern Vermont. This includes subscribers in the Towns for which LPCTV is designated to serve:  Mount Holly, Plymouth, Andover, & Reading. Examples of relevant programming for this audience include coverage of community events, “gavel-to-gavel” coverage of local government meetings, music and other performances from local artists, and programming produced for and by the local schools.

LPCTV’s local community “public access" channel can be found on VTel channel 160 and its education / government channel is on VTel 161. Both of these channels are in standard definition. In the near future, there will be the addition of HD channels, which means LPCTV’s programming will also be viewable in high definition on VTelevision.

LPCTV Turns 15

Fri, 10/07/2016 - 10:42 -- Patrick

Thank you to all who came out for the open house last week to celebrate 15 years of community TV in the Okemo Valley. An unofficial tally estimated there were 60 attendees. We documented the occasion with video footage and photographs, which will be edited into a forthcoming montage.  Shown below is a shot of the LPCTV Board of Directors & staff, posing with the cake; and the other photo is a close-up of the cake, showing the fine craftsmanship and creativity employed by Big Eyes Bakery.

A special "thank you" goes out to the restaurants who provided the "small bites": Brook Farm Vineyards, The Combes Family Inn, The Killarney, Mojo Cafe, Sam's Steakhouse, Stemwinder, & Table 19, as well as the cider from Brown's Orchard in Castleton.

Here's a video we made of the occasion:

Check it out- In case you were wondering what we do...

"LPCTV provides the Okemo Valley region with equal access to multi-media technology for the purposes of education and information."  That's our new mission statement, which was adopted as part of our new strategic plan.

Over the course of the past year, the LPCTV Board of Directors developed a new 5-year strategic plan. That new plan was adopted at the annual meeting in June.  Here is a photo of us during planning session from last Fall at the Combes Family Inn:
