Howard Center Community Education Series / Understanding Trauma and Its Impact: Creating a Trauma-Informed Community. This presentation will explore the pervasiveness of trauma in our lives and its impact on our communities. The presenters will offer a developmental perspective when discussing the impact of trauma, as age and developmental levels are among the many factors contributing to the unique response people have to traumatic events. The presentation will also cover the myths and stereotypes related to trauma, human response to high stress, and basic brain development science related to trauma.
