The Speckers- Kansas City Reel

On his birthday, local fiddling sensation John Specker performs in the Okemo Valley TV studio with his daughters, Lila & Ida Mae. According to the Traditional Tune Archive: The tune was first recorded by Bob Larkin (d. 1942) in Memphis, Tennessee, February, 1928, for OKeh Records. The group consisted of Bob Larkan (fiddle), son Forrest Larkan (piano), daughter Alice Sherbs (guitar), and William Holden Sherbs (guitar), who lived in Prairie County, Arkansas. "Kansas City Reel" has some 'musical DNA' from "Lardner's Reel (1)" evident in the first strain.
